Other materials used for cigar boxes
Wood and tin are not the only materials from which cigar boxes have been made. Cardboard, glass and plastic have all been important in package history.
Man’s incredible ingenuity has also used aluminum, brass, pewter, silver-plate, tin-foil, pottery, fired ceramic, Opaline, and various combinations of the above.
Box designers have been particularly creative in the use of materials for upright packaging, boxes and cans in which the cigars stand on end.
